WHATS IN MY MAKEUP BAG SUMMER 2018!

Hello Everybody and welcome back to my blog!

So, today, I thought I would share with you what I am currently keeping in my makeup bag and so therefore some of my favourite makeup products! So, lets get on with the post!

So the makeup bag which I am currently using is from superdrug, and yes, it is a love island one! It was £5.00 but I believe that they are currently on offer for £3.32. This bag is the PERFECT size for fitting in your everyday makeup and makeup brushes. So the bag itself just has the classic bright pink love island font on the front, and it just says 'on point'. I know you can actually get different words and phrases but this was the one that I went for! You can actually get a personalised wash bag for I believe £12 from the love island app, but this wasn't actually available when I got this one, and lets be fair, I probably have too many empty makeup bags lying around anyway, so I don't really need another one!
What I love about this makeup bag is that it is actually quite big, even though it looks quite small, as it kind of folds out more than you would think. I also love the fact that it is clear, as this makes it so much easier to find what you are looking for when you are in a rush in the morning!

So I don't actually wear foundation on a daily basis as most of the time, my skin is quite clear, which I am incredibly thankful for! This means that I am able to get away with concealer to cover any spots and blemishes and to brighten under my eyes. The concealer that I am loving right now is the Bourjois Radiance reveal concealer in the shade T01.
I am a big fan of this concealer, and I love the consistency of it, it is SO easy to blend, which is great, however, my issue with this is with the shade range. I believe there are only four shades and they are not a very broad range which is so annoying, not only for me, who is someone who is in-between shades, but also for people with darker skin. The shades in this range are still fairly light, even at the darkest shades and I believe that the brand could release more shades that are darker, especially when you look at brands like fenty beauty and L'oreal, who have such an amazing shade range. I feel like this concealer would be so much better if they released more shades and show more diversity! So yeah, this concealer is amazing in the lighter shades and I do love it but the thing which I should mention is that the 01 shade is usually about right for me, but can be a bit light, but I also find that the 02 shade is too dark, and neither match when I have a bit of a summer tan. However, I would really recommend it in terms of the actual product if that makes sense!
On a different note, I am looking to get a new concealer and I have seen the L'Oreal true match range and I think I am going to try that, so if anyone has tried this concealer or has it, please let me know you opinion in the comments!

Moving on! The powder which I am using at the moment is the Rimmer Stay Matte Pressed
Powder in the shade transparent. This powder is an absolute bargain at £3.99 and I literally love it! I have tried some powders in the past which have actually been quite cakey and can make your makeup look really matte, and orangey, however, this powder does none of the above. This powder is so good because while it makes your makeup matte, it leaves the perfect amount of natural glow behind and is perfect for everyday use!

Okay, so the next product which is an must have for me on an everyday basis is the revolution flawless 3 resurrection  eyeshadow palette.  I. Love. This. Palette. This palette is like a literal dream- there is such a variety of colours, the perfect balance between matte and shiny and the pigmentation is so good! Okay, so I will start with the variety of colours- for me, this is a perfect variety. There are 32 colours in the palette, which is amazing value at only £8.00. The palette has not only some lovely neutral nude colours, which are perfect for an easy, minimalistic look, but also some deeper red-y/ orange colours and other pink shades. Before purchasing this palette, I had barely touched some of the deeper red colours and for me, I felt that these were a bit too adventurous and dark, me being a fan of the more neutral colours to wear. So I decided to get this palette as I wanted to be a but more adventurous in my eyeshadow, and for me, this was the perfect the perfect balance between the light brown/red colours that I normally reach for and the more vibrant reds and browns that I am still not quite ready for! Although I'm not wearing these colours as much right now, in the summer, in the winter and autumn, these were my go-tos!
I also love this palette because it has the neutral shades which I normally go for, which is great because I have pretty much ran out all of the other neutral shades that I own! Again, this palette also has some gorgeous shiny, shimmer shades, which are perfect for making the look a little more glam!
As I mentioned earlier, this palette also has great pigmentation. I have found in the past that when applied with a brush some eyeshadows do not apply well at all, come out really light and weak, have terrible fallout, but this palette has none of that! The shadows apply perfectly with a brush and look amazing!

The next product that I am going to mention is an eyeliner. Now, I don't use eyeliner in my daily routine, as I am absolutely awful at it and I can rarely get them to match, but I have had this eyeliner for a little while now and since getting this eyeliner, I feel like i am kind of improving! So the eyeliner which I am loving is the body shop star stamp liner for £10.00. I actually got this eyeliner as part of the body shop advent calendar and it is still going very strong! This eyeliner actually has too
ends to it, a regular eyeliner end, and a star
stamp end. I don't actually use the stamp end, but it is actually so cool and stamps in a little star shape which would be great, especially if you put glitter over the top of it! But the part of it that I love is the actual liner end. I find that this liner is perfect for getting the right shape liner, not too thick or thin and the liner is nice and dark, because I have had eyeliners in the past that have been quite light and don't actually give a very defined shape. I also find that the eyeliner slides really smoothly across the eye and I would 100% recommend it!

I actually have a few mascaras in my makeup bag at the moment. The one which is my absolute favourites is one that I got as a free tester a little while ago and it is the Clinique High Impact Mascara. It is actually starting to dry out now so I need to get a new full sized one, but this mascara is amazing! I find that this mascara gives your lashes amazing length and volume and whenever I wear this mascara I get so many compliments on my lashes! I find that this mascara applies amazingly as well and does not look clumpy at all, as some mascaras do! Another mascara that I have in my. Makeup bag is the Kiko luxurious lashes maxi brush mascara mascara. I like this mascara, although for me, it is not a patch on the Clinique one! This mascara is slightly more clumpy, however, I do feel that it still gives an amazing volume to my lashes and I do really like the mascara. However, if I am comparing the mascaras, I personally find that the Clinique mascara gives my eyelashes more length!

On to highlight, there is one palette in particular which I am loving right now! That palette is the Sleek Solstice palette palette (only £2.00 in superdrug at the moment! The sleek website says that it is £9.99)  I absoulutely love the shades in this palette! There are four different ones and there is not one that I don’t use! The shade that I use the most is the creamy coloured shade. This shade is a powder product and I find that this shade is perfect for everyday use for a more subtle look. The next shade that I use the most is probably the purple shade which is called hemisphere. I love this shade if I am going for a more dramatic highlight that I really want to glow! However, I do feel that this shade could be used on an everyday basis if you did want to, but you would probably want to use slightly less of it. The next shade is the palette is this gorgeous golden shade. I don’t use this shade much, but for adding a summer glow to your look, especially if you had a tan, this is the perfect shade! The final shade in the palette is the only cream highlight, which is probably why I don’t use it much, but it is a lovely subtle highlight, however, for me, I find this one slightly difficult to apply, and for sake of ease, I tend to reach more for the powder shades. For this palette as a whole, I think that the pigmentation is amazing for all of the shades and the amount of time that this highlighter lasts on this skin is much longer than many other highlights that I have tried and I would 100% repurchase this when it runs out! (Totally gutted that I broke the mirror off of it!)

I don’t actually use contour on an everyday basis (or ever really), purely because I am really not that good at it, but if I do decided to wear it, I usually use the contour shade out of the collection highlight and sculpt contour kit palette. I find that this is a really good shade for my skin tone and works well when I want to use it!

For eyebrows, I tend to use the Seventeen brow sculpting pencil brow pencil. I personally prefer to use a pencil to fill in my brows as I find that I can be a lot more precise in shaping them and for me it just is a lot easier, as I find that I end up making my brows very messy with powder! This brow pencil is the first one that I brought and I actually just ended up sticking with it and buying the same one again when it an out, purely because it was the perfect match for my brows and did the job right!
Little update to this!: After looking around to try and find the link to put with this post, I found out that Seventeen is being discontinued and will no longer be available to buy online or in-store anymore and I am now gutted! So, I now need to try and find a new brow pencil! Please leave your favourites in the comments- pencils only please!

As for brushes and sponges, I actually have a few in my makeup bag! The begin which I have the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Makeup sponge which was £5.99. I really like this beauty blender as I find that it doesn’t take up too much product and blends out my makeup perfectly!

I also have the Real Techniques setting brush which I find is perfect for blending my concealer! It is a lovely tiny brush which means it is so good for getting under my eyes etc!
The brush which I like to use for powder is again another Real Techniques brush, but this time it is the multitasking brush. For me, this is perfect for powder cause it is quite flat and I find the big powder brushes quite hard to use to apply the powder exactly where I want it! For eyeshadow, I like to use the Real Techniques base shadow brush, as I find that this is perfect for the crease as well as applying the base shadow and its just an all round great brush really!

Note: Some of the links to these brushes are to the sets which the brushes come in because the brushes aren't available to purchase on their own! And on my second note, I have always brought my brushes from superdrug thinking that these would be the best prices, however, I have just looked on the Real Techniques website and found some amazing sets for great prices! So if you want to get some great quality brushes at great prices, look on the real techniques website!
